Linux Mint:
an Ubuntu-based distribution that has almost everything that a user could use.
when i tried the Live CD it had Divx/Xvid codecs alrdy installed, Beryl installed and working, sadly enough there was one thing not pre-installed which is Wine.
the sad part is ... the fiesty problem with my laptop still exist :(
even if you never tried ubuntu i'd recommend trying the LiveCD of Mint instead of Ubuntu.
Edit: i managed to run it on my laptop and was shocked that even networking is 100% working!
